Along the way, it got delayed and many speculated that the theme park would open in 2017, and again in 2018. Genting Malaysia filed a lawsuit in the US District court yesterday, 26 November against Walt Disney and 20th Century Fox for not wanting to continue with the agreement to build the Fox World theme park. In early 2019, Fox made a counterclaim against Genting Malaysia Bhd for US$46.4 million in an ongoing case surrounding the theme park.
